UKM's undergraduate studies regulations, the copy updated on 2 July 2025, define GPA as the sum of grade point times credit hours, divided by credit hours, for the semester. CGPA is that same sum across semesters. The regulations then do something unusually helpful: they print five courses and the total. XA1013 is an A at 4.00 for 3 hours, 12.00 points. XB1013 is a B+ at 3.33, 9.99 points. XC1013 is an A- at 3.67, 11.01 points. XD1512 is an E at 0.00, 0 points from 2 hours. XE1512 is a D at 1.00, 2.00 points. The semester is 13 credits and 35.00 grade points. The GPA is 35 divided by 13, which is 2.6923. Load the worked example on this page and those are the numbers you should see.
There is no A+. A runs from 80 to 100 at 4.00. The rest of Table 3 is A- 3.67, B+ 3.33, B 3.00, B- 2.67, C+ 2.33, C 2.00, C- 1.67, D+ 1.33, D 1.00, and E 0.00. The regulations are explicit that the pass or fail label attached to C- is not the same in every faculty group. Some groups treat C- as a pass and some do not. The grade point 1.67 is the same either way. Verify the pass label with your faculty. Do not verify the arithmetic by changing 3.67 into 3.70; that is a different university.
E is the grade that dominates the example. Two credits of E add nothing to the 35 and add 2 to the 13. Drop those two credits, without any right to drop them, and the average jumps. That is why a portal can look "harsh" next to a calculator where someone deleted the fail. Keep the E until a repeat has actually replaced it. The regulations describe how a repeated fail and a repeated low pass are treated. Follow that rule, then edit the rows.
Eligibility bands in the same regulations talk about CGPA above 2.00 to continue cleanly, a conditional band below that, and a termination band under 1.00. Those bands are about status, not about how to multiply. A CGPA of 2.0500 and a CGPA of 1.9900 are both ordinary outputs of this form. What the faculty does next is in the regulation, not in the division.
Honours wording in the regulations starts from bands such as 3.67 to 4.00. Read the current table before you assume a 3.67 CGPA is a named class. The calculator stops at the average.
If you already have three semesters, do not average the three GPAs. Put the latest official CGPA and the total credits that produced it into the previous-study fields, then add only the new semester. That is the same weighting the regulations describe, without retyping every old course.
Verify with your faculty. There is no A+. The grade points in Table 3 are shared, but the regulations say whether C- is a pass depends on the faculty group. Verify the pass mark with your faculty. The points themselves are what this calculator uses.

The shared formula does not change with the logo on the transcript. Multiply each grade point by the credit hours, add those products, and divide by the credit hours. What changes is the point you are allowed to multiply. If your letter is not in the table, do not borrow one from another university. Use the main CGPA calculator to switch scales, or the SPM page if you are still counting school grades.
