An STPM PNGK is not a university CGPA with the logo swapped. Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia, in the 2026 examination regulations, defines it as the average Nilai Gred Mata Pelajaran of the best four subjects, and Pengajian Am has to be one of those four. The grades are not multiplied by credit hours. A 4.00 and a 2.00 count as one subject each. W, X, Y, and Z have no NGMP. If Pengajian Am itself is one of those codes, or if three other subjects are, the slip may print no PNGK at all.
The load button is Example 1. Pengajian Am B+ is 3.33, Physics B is 3.00, Chemistry A- is 3.67, and Biology A is 4.00. The sum is 14.00. Divided by 4, the PNGK is 3.5000. Nothing is dropped, because there are exactly four subjects with a grade point.
Example 2 needs a fifth row, which you add yourself. Pengajian Am C+ is 2.33, Mathematics T C is 2.00, Physics B- is 2.67, Chemistry D is 1.00, and Biology C is 2.00. Pengajian Am stays. The best three of the others are Physics 2.67, Biology 2.00, and Mathematics T 2.00. Chemistry at 1.00 is the one left out. The sum is 9.00 and the PNGK is 2.2500. The result names the subject that was left out so you can see the choice. MPM's method, not a scholarship form, is what that 2.25 follows.
Full pass on this table runs from A at 4.00 down to C at 2.00. C-, D+, and D are partial passes, at 1.67, 1.33, and 1.00, and they still have an NGMP, so they can be one of the four. F is 0. A partial pass is not the same statement as "the university will accept it". University admission, through BPKP, can rank candidates with a merit score that is not the PNGK printed on the slip. Verify with your faculty if the form asks for merit rather than this average. This page will not invent that merit formula.
Tick Pengajian Am on the general paper only. Tick W, X, Y, or Z when the slip has no grade point for that row, and the row is skipped. Fewer than four usable subjects is reported as incomplete, because that is when MPM may leave the PNGK blank. Do not pad the list with a guessed F to force a number.
Credit-hour calculators will give a different answer if you type these letters in as 3-credit courses. Use matriculation for KMM core courses, and a university page once a faculty has its own scale. The STPM number stays the four-subject average.
