On a polytechnic slip the semester average is the purata nilai mata, PNM, and the cumulative average is the huraian purata nilai mata, HPNM. Students still search for a CGPA calculator. The division is the same: mata nilai times credit hours, divided by the hours that count. What is not the same as a university 4.0 page is the bottom of the table. This JPPKK-style scale, still printed in the Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan 2025 exam guide, has E at 0.67 for 30–39 and E- at 0.33 for 20–29, then F at 0. A generic calculator that jumps from D at 1.00 to F at 0 will drop those points.
The rest of the letters are the familiar plus-minus set. A+ (90–100) and A (80–89) are 4.00. A- is 3.67, B+ 3.33, B 3.00, B- 2.67, C+ 2.33, C 2.00, C- 1.67 for 47–49, D+ 1.33 for 44–46, and D 1.00 for 40–43. A 3-credit E is 2.01 grade points, not zero. Two of those in a semester move the PNM more than people expect, because the hours still sit in the divider.
Verify with your faculty before you treat this as the table for a new cohort. Kolej Komuniti and polytechnic notices have said that an assessment instruction dated 2025 applies to students who started from Semester 1, Sesi II 2024/2025, and that earlier students keep the earlier table. That replacement table was not in the guide used here, so it is not invented on this page. If your offer letter or faculty site prints different points, use those points. The verify line stays up for that reason.
HPNM is not the average of your semester PNMs. A 4.00 semester of 12 credits pulls harder than a 4.00 semester of 3 credits. Put the old HPNM and the old total credits in the previous-study fields. If you only remember the old HPNM, stop and find the credit total on the slip.
University pages on this site do not contain E-. UTHM is a per-mark table. Matriculation uses core-course hours and a different letter set. A polytechnic transcript stays on this page.
Verify with your faculty. Verify with your faculty. This is the JPPKK-style table still printed in that 2025 polytechnic guide: PNM is the semester average and HPNM is the cumulative average. A 2025 assessment circular for new cohorts was announced separately and its full replacement table was not in the guide used here. E is 0.67 and E- is 0.33, which a generic 4.0 scale does not have.

The shared formula does not change with the logo on the transcript. Multiply each grade point by the credit hours, add those products, and divide by the credit hours. What changes is the point you are allowed to multiply. If your letter is not in the table, do not borrow one from another university. Use the main CGPA calculator to switch scales, or the SPM page if you are still counting school grades.
