Matriculation PNGS and PNGK, in the KPM prospectus, are credit-hour averages of the core courses. The letters carry A 4.00, A- 3.67, B+ 3.33, B 3.00, B- 2.67, C+ 2.33, C 2.00, C- 1.67, D+ 1.33, D 1.00, and F 0. The prospectus does not print a mark range next to those letters. This page does not invent one. Enter the letter on the slip.
The prospectus walks through a Semester I that this calculator can reproduce exactly. SM015 is an A for 5 credits (20.00). SK015 is a C+ for 5 credits (2.33 × 5 = 11.65). SB015 is a B+ for 5 credits (3.33 × 5 = 16.65). SP015 is a B for 5 credits (15.00). The total is 63.30 grade points over 20 credits. Divided through, that is 3.1650. The prospectus prints 3.17. Both figures are the same semester if you know which rounding you are looking at. The load button enters those four rows and shows 3.1650 so the rounding is visible.
Semester II in the same prospectus is A- (3.67 × 5 = 18.35), B (15), C (10), and B+ (16.65), which is 60.00 over 20 credits, PNGS 3.00. The cumulative figure they print uses (63.30 + 60) / 40. That is 123.30 / 40 = 3.0825, which rounds to the 3.08 in the prospectus if two places are the house style. To see it here, put the first semester in as a previous PNGK of 3.165 and 20 credits, then enter the second semester. A previous CGPA typed as 3.17 will not land on the same hundredths, because 3.17 was already rounded.
Compulsory courses, including some English papers, use a separate table in the prospectus and may stay out of PNGS and PNGK. Verify with your college which rows are core. Leaving a wajib paper in, or leaving a core paper out, both move the average. Credit hours in the worked example are 5 because that is what the prospectus uses for those four papers, not because every matriculation paper is 5 credits.
This is not an SPM aggregate and not a degree CGPA. After you enrol, switch to the university page. STPM is a different certificate again: best four subjects, not credit hours.
Verify with your faculty. Verify with your college. PNGS and PNGK in the prospectus are calculated from core-course grades and their credit hours. Compulsory courses, including some English papers, use a separate table and may stay out of this average. The prospectus rounds 63.30 / 20 to 3.17; this page shows 3.1650 so you can see that rounding.

The shared formula does not change with the logo on the transcript. Multiply each grade point by the credit hours, add those products, and divide by the credit hours. What changes is the point you are allowed to multiply. If your letter is not in the table, do not borrow one from another university. Use the main CGPA calculator to switch scales, or the SPM page if you are still counting school grades.
